Personal Statement |
 My
work is mainly contemporary landscape, semi-abstract and a free
response to the outdoor natural world. Living in Herefordshire my
work is steeped in unspoilt, rural scenes of rivers, fields, trees
and woods, with the Welsh hills beyond
I have a fascination with the effects of light on water, juxtaposed
with surrounding trees and foliage.
As artist in residence over the last 10 years, I have spent a lot of
time painting on site in Cape Cornwall, next to the sea.
I attempt to express through paint the emotions felt when trying to
portray the visual imagery, sounds, smells and feelings of nature.
I would describe myself as a contemporary plein Air painter.
I have contributed too many exhibitions in England and France where
I was a member of the Monaco Ecole des Arts plastique.
